Make this Valentine's About Love

Whether or not you choose to celebrate Valentine's, make this year a little different and make it about the people you love.

I don't mean show up with candy and flowers for everyone that means something to you. Instead a handwritten note in a card (Valentine's or not) will tell people how important they are to you. It's well worth the effort.

A good way to decide on the people in your life that have had a real impact is to make a short list. Think about yourself in terms of five to ten year increments. You're not the same person at 10 that you become at 20 and by 30 changes are good you will have an entirely new outlook.

Teachers you've had, relatives that have helped you, friends that have been there for you, a mentor that really taught you something in the business world and even a spiritual mentor if you've had someone that really opened your eyes, all of these things were done with love and should be mentioned by you as having an impact on your life.

If you have a hard time vocalizing how much you love and respect someone, consider showing them on Valentine's, you'll find that your relationship gets even stronger.
